The company is taking full responsibility for the collections developed and produced under the company name.
Responsible development starts with the selection of raw material, choosing poplins based not only on the quality of the finished
touch, but also taking into consideration the development process of the fibre, from growth of the plant to weaving of the textile.
All our mills work with transparent production methods and are all aiming to improve with every new product they produce,
investing in CO2 capturing techniques and water filtering systems.
By partnering with mills and suppliers that are pioneers and top innovators in their field, we are able to reduce the emissions
produced in the making of our garments through the choice of fabrics, but also by creating shapes which are timeless.
With cotton, quality starts at the fibre length - strong and durable fibre offers a much longer lifespan for the garment,
thus our focus is always on the quality of the cotton, as well as the background of the mill.
While we focus on organically grown cotton, we do from time to time use a non-organic cotton or other fibre for our shirts from
mills with other certifications in place. But when we use non–organic cottons, we only use buds which are grown under restricted
cultivation with a well managed water system. Organic grown cotton has shown great quality and yield improvement in recent years,
challenging the concerns of higher land use and quality differences. But there are still lands which provide a better yield for
conventional cotton, and which are farmed under well managed restriction by mills with energy supplied by photovoltaic power and
with their own advanced water filtration. Therefore the key is to support organic grown cotton, while also supporting mills with
other initiatives which have a beneficial impact, such a biodegradable nylon, certain triacetates, lyocells or recycled qualities.
All of our cottons are created by specialised Swiss and Italian mills overseeing the process from the growth of the cotton plant,
to the cleansing and weaving of the final textile. As the processing of the cotton is all done within a singular mill, the highest
guarantee is given to the purity and sustainability, with control over waste and closed loop cleaning systems.
It is not only sourcing which is important but also the longevity offered by the garment. A quality garment reduces the need to buy
more or add to the millions of tonnes of fashion waste sent to landfill each year.
The energy we consume in our studio and sampling process is sourced using clean UK based energy suppliers, mainly solar, wind and
anaerobic digestion. From paper to pen, all of our in–house equipment is produced from recycled materials.
Emissions produced in transport is another high factor in a carbon neutrality chain, hence we are collaborating with leading shipping
companies to offset the carbon created by shipping, designing the product to have a carbon neutral route from start to finish.
Overall carbon neutrality of the company on a whole is very important to us, and we strive to continuously improve and reduce our footprint.
The essence of our work is to challenge the throwaway culture, and leave behind the smallest impact on the environment as possible.
